The beneficial bacteria present in our gastrointestinal tract play an important role in the digestion and assimilation of food and have a strong influence on the regulation of the immune system. In
fact, intestinal imbalance (dysbiosis) is associated with a low, but constant, level of inflammation
which often leads to the development of leaky gut. Symptoms related to leaky gut and intestinal inflammation are: food intolerances, digestive problems, colitis, obesity, autoimmune diseases
and depression. Analysis of microbiota allows you to identify the composition of your intestinal bacteria.
With this test, you also find out if one bacterium has taken over the others, if there are pro-inflammatory bacteria or if you are deficient in beneficial bacteria (eg lactobacilli and bifidobacterial).
The report with the results of the analysis also includes dietary advice and indications of supplements and probiotics useful for restoring the correct intestinal bacterial balance. The test is very useful for preventive purposes, but also in subjects who have already had certain problems, as well as in patients in certain stages of life, such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, menopause, childhood and aging, to address a specific diet. / or a therapeutic approach.
The analysis starts from the fecal sampling and is based on the molecular evaluation of the intestinal microbiome by sequencing the genes with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology, which allows to obtain the composition of an individual’s microbiome and identify any changes in its components.
General recommendations
Discontinue treatment with corticosteroids, antibiotics and antihistamines 20 days prior to blood collection. If you are taking a radiotherapy or chemotherapy course, we recommend that you
wait 4 weeks after the course ends to collect the sample. The sample is collected in a specific
